Web Hosting Survey 2061 Focus

Nepalnet.net conducted
its first Web Hosting Survey from late
January to March 2004. A simple survey
was submitted to about 20 popular Nepali
web hosting service providers by email.
The main goal of the survey was to determine
the number of the domains hosted by the
Web Hosting companies and study the distribution
of the domains with .np in comparison
to domain with other international other
international tlds (.com, .net, and .org).
The survey found about even distribution
between .np domains
(43%) and other domains (57%) among Nepali
web hosting companies.
The study is limited
by the fact that we are relying on an
approximate data submitted to us by the
selected companies about few months ago
without any verification. However, we
believe that it portrays an approximate
bird-eyes view of the distribution of
tlds in Nepali servers. Finally, Nepalnet
would like to thank all the companies
who helped us by providing the vital data.

Above graph shows
the distribution of .np domain and other
domains (.com, .net, and .org) hosted
with web hosting companies surveyed. The
Blue bar denotes share of .np domains
while the Red bar of other domains such
as .com, .net, and .org. Similarly, the
Green bar shows the industrial average
of .np domains and purple industrial average
of other domains.

Gorkhali Newtork, Himalyan Hosting,
Himalyan Online Survey, Infocom, Mercantile,
